What does know-who.com do?
know-who.com utilises and monetises the power of referral and professional networking, and is dedicated to finding suitable candidates for roles and great jobs for candidates. The site has a network of members made up of recruiters, recommenders and job-seekers.
It is free to post jobs, and with only 5% fee on successful hire, know-who.com saves up to 75%* on the cost of recruiting. This revolutionary recruitment method acts as an external referral scheme and removes the need for a recruitment agency.
If you see a job that would be great for a friend, recommend them for it and they get hired, you will earn 70% of the placement fee. For a £60k job the recommender earns a fee of £2100.
Invite your contacts to join know-who.com and if you invite them first, you will earn 2.5% of each placement fee, each and every time they get hired or they hire. On a £60k job the person who invited the hirer and the job seeker to know-who.com each earn a fee of £75.
This new style of online recruitment gives job-seekers, recruiters and even networkers the opportunity not only to monetise their social and business contacts, but also use these contacts to actively help find the perfect jobs and staff too.

know-who.com charges an introduction fee on successful hire, 5% of the candidate’s starting salary or daily rate (whichever is applicable). know-who.com pays a percentage of the introduction fee to the person who has successfully recommended the job seeker, a percentage to the job seeker, and a percentage to the people who invited the job seeker and the hirer to join know-who.com.
The breakdown of the placement fee is:
- 70% is paid to the Referrer;
- 10% is paid to the Job-Seeker;
- 2.5% is paid to the person who invited the Job-Seeker;
- 2.5% is paid to the person who invited the Hirer;
- 15% is paid to know-who.com, which goes towards improving the know-who.com service.
know-who.com manages all financial transactions securely. As soon as funds have cleared, members can claim their percentage of the fee.

Each and every time someone you have invited to know-who.com either hires, or is successfully hired through the site you will earn 2.5% of the placement fee! Building your network is easy and it literally pays to invite your contacts to join the site first. Invite your contacts to join and share the benefits of our external recruitment scheme with them. You can pull your email contacts from your webmail address, linkedin profile, CSV File or by simply manually entering email addresses.
All you need to do is:
- Go to 'My Network'
- Select 'Invite People'
- Choose from: Invite from Webmail Account, Linkedin Profile, CSV File or via Email Address
- Enter your personal information and click 'Submit'
- You can personalise the message you send to your contacts
How do I get my inviter reward?
Our system automatically tracks each referral back to the inviter, and we will notify you each time you earn an inviter reward. All inviter rewards are paid out in accordance to our placement fee structure.

Your public profile refers to how much of your profile can be seen by members of your network. Visitors need to be logged in and belong to your network to view your full details. You can select how much information you want to be visible by visiting ‘my profile’ and selecting ‘yes’ to ‘show in public profile’, or simply leaving unchecked. You can change your preferences at any time.

Importing your contacts through a CSV file is a fast and easy way to build your network of invited contacts. Don’t forget every contact you invite has the potential to earn you rewards in the future!
E-mail software such as Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Mail have the facility to export your contacts as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. This is a simple text document that can be opened and edited with a spreadsheet or word processing program.
know-who.com can import your contacts directly from a CSV file. To create a CSV file in most email software:
- Open the program and select ‘Import and Export’ in the ‘File’ menu. Then select ‘Export to a File’. Some programs may allow you to choose ‘Export’ straight away.
- Choose to export your contacts only.
- Choose CSV as the file format.
- Enter the filename and choose the location to export your contacts to. Saving the file to the desktop will make it easier to locate.
- Once the process is finished, return to know-who.com, browse to the desktop and select the CSV file you have just created.
I’ve been recommended for a job - what does this mean?
Congratulations - someone thinks you are great! If the job is of interest, all you need to do in select ‘apply’ which will take you to the log-in page. If you are already a member, simply log-in, but if you are new to know-who.com you will need to register to be able to apply for the job.

You will benefit from our active recommenders helping to fill your job, because know-who.com offers rewards to community members who recommend each other for jobs.
Once you have posted the job on know-who.com our intelligent matching system will contact members in the network about the job, who are either in the same field of work or are likely to know people who are.
You can view the applicants online and be notified every time a new candidate applies. Simply log on and select the applicants that you wish to interview. We will then help you facilitate the interview by letting them know that you will be in touch. Once the position has been filled, simply let us know by confirming your selection online.

Once you have registered, simply go to ‘post a job’ and upload the job details giving as much information as you can to help our intelligent matching system start identifying the best people to contact for you.

The only time you have to pay for the service is if know-who.com helps to fill your job vacancy. The introduction fee on successful hire is only 5% of the candidate’s starting salary or daily rate (whichever is applicable). You only need to pay if know-who.com finds the right person for you.

know-who.com offers better guarantees than a recruitment agency. If employment is terminated within 8 weeks of the job seeker’s start date you are entitled to a full refund. Please view our full terms and conditions for further information.

Of course we hope that this won’t happen. With your thorough recruitment process and the 8 week rebate period we feel that this provides sufficient time to identify the right person for you.

This doesn’t tend to happen. The job seeker still needs to go through the application process and is not likely to apply just because a job has been recommended to them. know-who.com will save you time by automatically ranking applicants in order of suitability so you wont need to trawl through unsuitable applications.

As with using your traditional recruitment agency, there are no tax or legal implications for your company using know-who.com. We simply invoice you for the fee on the job seeker’s start date, and normal payment terms apply. All individuals registered with know-who.com receiving funds from the placement fee structure are responsible for their own tax liability.

The person you hire does receive a small sign on bonus paid by us, but only after you confirm their first eight weeks of successful employment. Therefore there is no risk that the candidate takes the job because of the bonus.

How do I apply for a job?
You’ll need to be a member of the know-who.com community to apply for a job through the site, but registering is quick and free.
Simply use the ‘apply’ button on the job details page and your career information will be sent to the hirer. We keep your name and contact details confidential at this point.
If the hirer requests to meet you, know-who.com will notify you immediately. We will then release your contact details so the hirer can arrange a time and place.

Uploading your CV to know-who.com is easy and you can select how much information you want to be visible to your contacts. You can either use our extract CV function to auto-populate your profile, or you can manually input your information.
To use our extract CV function, all you need to do is:
- Go to ‘My Profile’
- Select ‘Personal’
- Upload your CV via browse function
- Click ‘save’ and select which information to show in your public profile
- Check ‘view public profile’ to ensure you are happy with your profile

know-who.com has thousands of members, and whether they are looking for a new job, looking to hire, or simply have a large network of peers and would like to make a bit of extra cash - all these people are incentivised to recommend people they know that are suitable for our jobs. know-who.com is a professional networking service and being a member of the site does not necessarily mean you are looking for a new job. We have thousands of networkers and recruiters registered to know-who.com who are using the site to build their networks, earn rewards, as well as to find great new candidates.

Absolutely not. You should only apply for jobs that you would actually like and consider yourself suitable for, and you will still need to go through the application process.

There are a couple of reasons why this wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t be fair for candidates to ignore a recommendation from a contact, and apply directly to the site to earn the reward themselves. Secondly, recruiters on our site want candidates to take the job because they like the position and the company, not because they are tempted by a reward.

What happens if more than one person recommends my friend for a job?
We track the source of the recommendation, via the application process. So if your friend decides to apply for the job, they can choose which recommendation they follow, so ultimately your friend chooses who the reward goes to. If you recommend someone for a job, it is a good idea to make sure they are happy for you to recommend them, which also ensures that you get the recommender reward if they’re successfully hired.

Yes - it’s easy to recommend someone even when they’re not a member of the site. Simply click ‘recommend someone’ and enter their email address. You can also personalise your message to them. They will need to register with know-who.com to apply for the job.

Yes - when you recommend someone you have the option to keep your identity private. All you need to do is check the box ‘I do not wish to be identified as the recommender’

We will do everything in our power to ensure invoices are paid on time and in full, however we aren’t responsible for overdue or refusal of payment by the hiring company. For the avoidance of doubt we are unable to pay the placement fee structure until we have been paid in full.
